La Candelilla is a pioneer when it comes to micro mills – they were one of the first to do it in the early 2000’s.
This is a family owned mill – the farmers that deliver also share ownership in La Candelilla.
La Candelilla is a family owned and run micro mill in Tarrazu region of Costa Rica. Tarrazu is the biggest producing coffee growing region in Costa Rica with its coffee culture engrained to daily lives of its inhabitants. The farmers delivering coffee to the mill are family members and owners of the mill. Most of their farms produce Caturra and Catuai with some Geisha, SL28, and Typica and have an area of more than 40 hectares total. Coffee is wet-milled and dry-milled on site.
